My Psychotherapy Services
Clients need to know:
That change is possible
We have the inner resources to change given the proper conditions
That empathy, trust and unconditional regardare basic tenets of any good therapy
Finding a therapist, especially for the first time, can be a challenging and sometimes intimidating process. I will be pleased to discuss your reasons for coming into therapy in an initial phone consult at no charge, where we will jointly determine whether my services are a good fit for what you are experiencing.
Mental Health Issues
I work with issues such as depression, anxiety, obsessive behavior, relationship problems and early abuse, and assess whether problems such as bipolar disorder, addictions, eating problems and self-harm necessitate a referral to a medical specialist for treatment.
Emotional problems require support and intervention and clients often need to learn how to overcome self-judgment as they begin to work.
Dreamwork Groups
Dreams are a path to the unconscious and working in a closed, confidential setting with others helps us tap into this rich resource. The dynamic experience of sharing and working together, valuing each others inner life, can be very powerful and rewarding. Groups may last from 8 to 16 weeks, depending on the group's choice.
Supervision for Mental Health Professionals
I offer consultation and supervision to mental health workers interested in augmenting their practice with depth psychology or expressive therapies such as art and Sandplay Therapy. You can work individually, or meet in small group, to enhance skills and develop insight into how you work in the therapeutic setting.
Workshops
I present workshops in my office and in the community on the following topics. Please contact me if you or your organization is interested in:
Dream Work
An introduction into the world of dreams and how we can use them to grow psychologically.
Fairy Tales
Fairy tales are simple expressions of unconscious psychic processes. This workshop looks at some of our most loved tales (and most disliked) as a means of understanding our complexes.
Film and Archetypes
Like myths, films show the larger narratives of our lives; this workshop looks at several well-known films to help us understand how we relate to the archetypal patterns
Humor and Inner Life
This workshop looks into the many ways we use humor, constructively and destructively, and helps develop consciousness about humor in our everyday lives.
Sandplay Therapy
This workshop is for mental health professionals interested in learning about the depthful process of Sandplay Therapy to help understand clients' psychic processes.
